TO BEGIN WITH...
Much like the fictional world of 'Age of Heroes', The history of the world remains pretty much intact (Aspects are subject to alternation).
There of course are plenty of differences. Mostly coming in the form that the 'Myths of Legend' are not necessarily myths.
So too are visitors from beyond the blue skies of this world.
The most astounding difference is the physics defying Meta or Super Humans.
But first...
WHO'S THAT 'MASKED MAN'?!
He was stopped by a black clad and masked lasso wielding Mystery Man (Which he was called by the papers), who disappeared after stopping this mad-man named Jonah Barnes, never appearing again.
The identity of Mystery Man was never known.
The news of these events both shocked and inspired the world.
THE YEAR WAS 1953... A SUPERHERO COMETH!
This changed as time went on, with the entry of public Metas, Super Powered Humans or Super Heroes. They year was 1953...
The first did things that matched those feats out of the legends of myth.
He was a new development in the evolution of the Mystery Man, The first Superhero.
The result of a botched experiment to harness solar power, a scientist named William Johnson became endowed with the power of the sun.
His physical abilities increased to enormously inhuman levels, He discovered he could now emit solar radiation in various ways and forms... and could fly.
After much soul-searching, Johnson donned the now iconic red tights, gold mask, boots, gloves and cape, finishing the look off with a Sun insignia on his chest to become the champion CAPTAIN SOLAR.
Captain Solar was to become the greatest hero of them all, fighting for truth, justice, and the American way. He wasn‘t the first super powered being on the planet, Just the one that was known and openly appeared to the general public.
MORE MASKS... THE WAR AND THE COMING ATOMIC AGE...
Beginning in America, This caused others to follow suit and hiding their faces behind masks of their own, crime-fighters boasting colorful costumes and gimmicks, These figures were at first called Masked or Mystery Men, who took the law into their own hands successfully battling crime and pretty much what equated as the forces of evil.
Despite enthusiastic public support, the authorities of the time deeply disapproved of the phenomenon. Soon though, perhaps as a result of desperation in the criminal underworld, villains as outrageous as the Masked Men emerged and the government more or less accepted it needed the vigilantes to manage them.
A few were serious Vigilantes, who used brutal means on criminals or enemies of the nation. Though most only did what they had to, In order to take out criminals.
Soon the phenomenon had spread throughout the western world, Partly into some portions of Europe as well.
In America especially, A few of these Mystery Men became symbols of liberty and freedom, a rallying point for ordinary people during that decade of disparity, as well as the war that followed.
RISE OF THE SUPERHEROES!
In this new age of Atomic Weapon Tests, Strange Scientific Discoveries and Unusual Phenomenon's. A small wave of other Super Powered beings started to appear shortly after Captain Solar, Heroes like Diamond Doris, Desert Eagle, Living Flame, Shadow Sleuth, Smasher & Thunderstorm or Umdumo.
Some use their powers for good, other for evil.
They appeared all over the world, such as the Soviet Union, where many of the Metas were captured or in some extreme cases executed.
The World reacts favorably to this new brand of hero.
The various governments of the World are curious how they are able to do the things they are, When according to physics… Impossible. The first wave of U.S. Government tests and experiments are run. As the Government is afraid as regular prisons cannot seem to contain them.
