Welcome To HEROES ABOUND!
TO BEGIN WITH...

Hello and Welcome to Heroes Abound!
I am an artist and a writer of 'Super Heroic' Fiction from Michigan (You know... where half the year it is so cold out, that being inside doing something creative is much more pleasant than being outside in the cold!)
This is a site to spotlight both my art, a little bit of my storytelling, maybe a little about me (The least important part - trust me!).
It is also going to be used to highlight a Round Robin Role Playing Game I am involved in (Possibly two, eventually).
A LITTLE ABOUT MY INTERESTS…
I have loved Super Heroes since I was a little kid.
Coming from a creative family the artwork aspect was the first attraction for me.
My Mother had taught me to draw at a VERY young age, I knew all the basics long before most of my peers did. Comics was an exciting image filled world of creativity, that had flashy colors and fun stories that would draw the eye of an imaginative child that I was… well… I still am, Just no longer a child! HEH!
I love to draw and I especially love to draw super heroes.
My favorite thing to draw is action and lots of destruction!
The subtle moments are fun… but rather boring…
EXAMPLE:
Hero in Civvies: “Hello! Honey, I’m home”
Significant other: “Hi yourself! How was your day?” (Now if she/he doesn’t know about his/her dual identity then it would go on like this).
Hero in Civvies: “I had a fine day. How was yours?” while thinking. “Dr. Insidious escaped me again, I have hide the bruise he gave my side from ‘SIGNIFICANT OTHER’, he/she might get suspicious.”
Significant other: “Good, Jamie called from college again, he/she needs more money!”
If that was boring to read, imagine how boring it is to draw! As opposed to...
WHAM!! BLAM! BOOM! ZARK! SNICK!
I have an old school mentality when it comes to comics and the heroes in them.
I am not much of a fan of the dark depraved heroes that seem to be rife in comics today.
If I want bitter angst with no possible happy ending… I can just put the comic down and return to real life. HEH!
I prefer my escapism to be simply that… Someplace where the good guys win. Bad guys are put in their place. Usually in fun and inventive, If not smart ways, which didn‘t always involve their fists. For me it is as simple as black and white.
I shouldn’t walk away from a super hero story feeling bad. Don’t get me wrong, showing bad things happening to good people is part of the plot device… Characters can definitely have their fare share of woes.
Just to drag it on endlessly (Especially with the hero… Supporting characters are fine, to and extent) is pointless!
At least to me…
WHAT ELSE I LIKE...
I love Giant Monster Movies A LOT!! As well as old B&W movies and Television, Especailly World War II ones or Detectives, Gangster stuff is fun too!
I think that Sherlock Holmes and Charlie Chan are great fun. As are a lot of the little known other serials that ran and went into obsurity! They are hokey... but good fun!
I am HUGE into Mythology and my collection and knowledge is pretty extensive, So too am I also a fan of the histories of the various cultures the more 'Famous' or 'Popular' Myths hail from.
I love to watch Cartoons, Especially anything that some sort of super being in them.
My entire family has been insanely into video games since 'Pong' came out. We have every system and we played as a family having a great fun. So anyone who thinks anyone is wasting their time playing video games will not get my vote.
My family has seen video games as being no different than sitting in front of a TV for hours and wasting time, Cept they felt it was more interative (Both the game and Family).
I used to be very into RPGs or Role Playing Games when they first came out and this lasted about 17 years. Then life took me away from my playing group.
I would still do it if I had the time.
Okay, Enough about me.

What is AOH?
AOH stands for 'AGE of HEROES' It is what is called a Round Robin or a written RPG (without rolling anything to hit or whatever).
It is a story format game system where Authors write 'Story Segments' involving characters of whatever 'Genre' they desire.
Obviously, Superheroes are the centerpiece of this particular series of 'Story Segments' by the writers within AOH.
Of course with any story you need a 'Story Setting' In this case it is the world of AOH. Everyone plays within the confines of the game, based on the rules of the Gamemaster (The person who usually started the game). The Gamemaster usually has a specfic idea of what makes the world up. So if you decide to add something which might alter the 'Gameworld' face, It is usually good to pass such things past the Gamemaster.
Overall it is great fun! Especailly if you love the Genre you are writing about.
In my case I get the added bonus of finally drawing superheroes for a story.
ANYWAYS... that is the basics.
If you feel like checking out AOH or other similar sites, Such as the very large campaigns (On Going Games) in SHH or Super Hero Hype website. By all means I encourage you to do so.
I also took the liberty of placing a few of other things that I tend to use with frequency on the net.
SUPER HERO HYPE - 'In Character'
SUPER HERO HYPE - 'Out of Character'
All Characters (with a number of exceptions) and virtually all Images (With few exceptions) are copyrighted to me.
